Tory and Hugh's wedding was my last of the season, and it was one I had been looking forward to all year! Tory and Hugh are both incredibly kind, genuine people, and have just about everything in common besides their college football allegiances (Hugh went to the University of Michigan whereas Tory is a Ohio State fan). After many years apart, Tory working in Columbus and Hugh attending graduate school in Boston, their wedding served also to celebrate the well-deserved end of long distance as they move to Michigan together. Getting to know Tory and Hugh and having the privilege of capturing their big day was both a pleasure and honor.
Tory and Hugh's ceremony took place at Tory's childhood church in Worthington: Worthington Presbyterian Church, right in the middle of town. The weather was incredible for mid November in Ohio: sunny, around 50 degrees, and barely distinguishable from September! Tory and Hugh opted not to do a first look, so it was quite the moment for them both when Tory walked down the aisle. Ashley assisted as a second photographer, and got some great shots from the balcony above. After the ceremony, we were able to capture some beautiful images as dusk fell outside the church.
After finishing up portraits, we headed over to House Wine in Old Worthington for a champagne toast with the bridal party. After that was the reception at Vue Columbus in the Brewery District downtown. The reception was full of heartfelt toasts, lots of dancing, and the excitement (or disappointment, for some of the guests :)) of Michigan beating Indiana. At the end of the night, we finished up with a few night shots downtown. Congratulations to Tory and Hugh!
