Gina and Allen were originally going to get married in May, but due to the Covid19 pandemic, they made the difficult decision to postpone their big day until the summer. These two have dealt with so much over the last few months: a lockdown, evolving health guidelines, and even a forecast of thunderstorms for their rescheduled wedding day. Gina and Allen handled all of it with so much grace though, and their wedding ceremony in July was all the more emotional and heartfelt for it.
I began the day with Gina, her family, and friends as they got ready, while my assistant Kelly started with Allen, his family, and his groomsmen. We then headed to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Parma for their ceremony. Gina's walk down the aisle, and Allen's reaction to seeing her, was one of the sweetest moments I've photographed: it was clear in their faces how much it meant to finally get to this day! After the ceremony, Gina and Allen did a bubble exit followed by family portraits at the church.
After family portraits, we drove downtown to Wade Oval, just outside the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Voinovich Park to continue with bridal party portraits. Despite a bit of rain on the way there and ominous looking skies, we got lucky and completely avoided the afternoon storms (though it was a close call as we wrapped up shooting at Voinovich Park!) Gina and Allen will continue their celebration in September with a reception at Weymouth Country Club. For now though, they are officially married! Congratulations to these two!
