Maya: Bat Mitzvah at Temple Israel and Creekside Event Center in Gahanna

In mid March, I headed to Columbus in order to capture Maya's bat mitzvah at Temple Israel. It was frigid outside (gotta love Ohio's indecisive transition to spring!), but inside the temple was full of warm greetings, celebration, and love for Maya. It was also Maya's actual 13th birthday, which added to the excitement!

We began the morning with family portraits before Maya's ceremony at Temple Israel. After the ceremony and kiddush luncheon, Maya's celebration continued at Creekside Conference Center in Gahanna. Maya's party featured lots of fun games and dancing, a "Celestial Sweets" theme that tied into Maya's love of baking, a heartfelt candle lighting that honored Maya's closest family and friends, and even a personal video message from a Hamilton cast member!
