I first met Emily and Colin last fall when I photographed Colin's proposal at Geneva-on-the-Lake. There is something so special about being with a couple from the beginning of their engagement, seeing Emily and Colin's initial giddiness and excitement in November grow and materialize into their heartfelt wedding this summer as they were surrounded by family and friends. 

Emily and Colin live just a few minutes away from me in Solon, but since Emily grew up in Columbus, they decided to tie the knot at the Church of the Messiah in Westerville and celebrate at Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center in Lewis Center. Since I lived in Columbus for eight years and am familiar with the area, it was easy to coordinate and plan each part of the day. Plus, I always love excuses to go back and visit! 

Abel joined me as second photographer, and we began the day separately as Emily and Colin got ready at Nationwide. We then headed to Westerville where Emily and Colin officially became husband and wife at the Church of the Messiah. With Otterbein University just a few minutes from the church, we opted to do portraits on campus near Towers Hall. (College campuses in the summertime are one of the best and most underrated locations for portraits- they are gorgeous yet so happily devoid of other people!) After our time at Otterbein, we returned to Nationwide for Emily and Colin's cocktail hour and reception, which was full of heartfelt and tearful toasts, delicious food, and plenty of dancing! 

Emily and Colin are both incredibly kind and genuine people, and their wedding fully embodied this. I am so happy for them both, and I can't wait to see them again soon at Colin's sister Allyson's wedding this fall! Congratulations!
