Mary Therese and Nate were my last wedding for the season, and I can't think of a better couple to end with! Mary and Nate are incredibly kind and down-to-earth, and throughout the day they went out of their way to help and include everyone around them. Even with pouring rain all afternoon and evening, along with a few other minor mishaps, Mary and Nate were all smiles and laughs. It's so easy to get fixated on every last detail of a wedding going according to plan, but Mary and Nate truly exemplify what's really important: marrying the love of your life and having fun doing it.
My assistant Amber and I began the day separately as Mary got ready at home and Nate got ready at the Hampton Inn Cleveland-Westlake. We then headed to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Rocky River, where Mary's uncle led Mary and Nate's ceremony. Mary and Nate incorporated lots of Irish touches throughout the day, the first of which was a bagpiper to lead them out of the church! We did family portraits in the sanctuary, then headed to David Fortier Park in Olmsted Falls for bridal party portraits. It was pouring rain and just about everyone (myself included!) got drenched, but the beautiful fall color and having the park to ourselves were 100% worth it.
After portraits, we traveled to the West Side Irish-American Club in Olmsted Township. Mary and Nate's reception featured delicious food, heartfelt toasts (including Mary's father publicly ripping up a "just in case" family vacation photo he had taken without Nate a while back!), more bagpiping, and even an Irish dance performance by Mary and her friends! Congratulations to these two!!
