From our first phone conversation to their wedding last month, Allison and Taylor have been one of my all-time favorite couples to work with! Their engagement session was my last before going on maternity leave in February (in fact, Elias came four days after their shoot, and I finished their images from my hospital room!) and their wedding this fall was my last of the 2021 season. It was such a pleasure getting to know these two throughout the last year and such an honor to capture their day!
I began the day downtown at the Hilton Garden Inn where Allison and Taylor got ready separately, but in rooms directly above/below each other! Their first look took place at the hotel and was incredibly sweet as they both took each other in along with the fact they were really getting married that day! After the first look, we headed to Voinovich Park for portraits with their bridal party along the lakefront. It was incredibly windy (just about the windiest wedding I've ever photographed!) so we ended up heading to Lake Affect Studios early to finish portraits there in the shelter of the venue's courtyard. Allison and Taylor's ceremony started soon afterward (after a coin flip to determine who would walk down the aisle first!), and we did family portraits following that. Allison and Taylor's reception featured the live band The Element and the dance floor was packed from the beginning!
Allison and Taylor have been a true joy to work with, and their wedding was so individualized to their personalities and values, from Taylor's bridal party's Converse shoes, to Allison's cousin Jeff officiating, to their mutual parent dances with both their moms and dads. This was the perfect end to my wedding season, and I am so happy for these two brides. Congratulations!!
