I cannot think of a better way to kick of 2022 than with shooting Dan's proposal to Brianna last weekend! Proposals are also one of my favorite moments to photograph. With weddings and engagement sessions, I typically communicate primarily with brides, and we plan timelines, locations, and other details out ahead of time. Proposals provide a glimpse into everything from the groom-to-be's (or other partner's) perspective and the story of their relationship, and they are both incredibly exciting and also emotional. And no matter how much planning we do ahead of time as far as where I'll be and when the big moment will be, that actual act of asking the question is inherently raw and unscripted.
Dan and Brianna live in Columbus, but traveled to Geneva for a weekend away wine tasting. Their wine tour ended early and Brianna wasn't sure why, but when the two of them took a walk to the gazebo by the lake at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, it all made sense why when Dan got down on one knee to propose! After a sweet moment together taking everything in, I introduced myself and we jumped right into a mini engagement session surrounded by crunchy snow, the lakefront, and spectacular sunset. Brianna was also prepared (despite not knowing she'd be getting engaged that day!) with lots of great ideas for various shots.
I am so happy to Brianna and Dan, and excited to share images from this session. Congratulations to these two!!
