Katie and Sam's wedding was the perfect way to kick off October, and the transition to autumn was reflected throughout their decor and details. This celebration featured a wealth of unique details, personalized twists on traditions, and featured so many of Katie and Sam's favorite spots and neighborhoods around Cleveland.
My assistant Michael and I began the day separately as Katie got ready at her and Sam's house in Cleveland Heights and Sam got dressed at the nearby Glidden House. Before we left the house for portraits, we got a few quick portraits outside of Katie and her pet snake- that was a fun first for me! After that, we drove to Wade Lagoon, only about 5 minutes away, for portraits with Katie's wedding party. Meanwhile, Sam and his wedding party headed to Ohio City to get ready for the ceremony at Great Lakes Brewing Company.
Katie and Sam's ceremony was sweet and heartfelt, and featured quotes from some of their favorite books like Lord of the Rings. Following the ceremony and bubble exit, we explored Ohio City with their family and wedding party for more portraits. Katie and Sam were also sure to make a stop at one of their favorite spots in Ohio City, 16-Bit Bar & Arcade, for a quick round of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Following portraits, we returned to GLBC for the reception. Katie and Sam's reception featured delicious food and local drinks (a must have for getting married at a brewery!), and a Pusheen toss instead of a bouquet toss for the guest who would be next to get a cat!
I had a blast capturing this wedding, and I am so excited to share favorites below. Congratulations, Katie and Sam!
