Sami and Brent live in Vermont (where they own a wedding transportation business!) but they first met while working in Ohio. These two spent their first date on the shores of Lake Erie in Fairport Harbor, so when it came to wedding planning, they knew they needed to return to the lakefront to properly celebrate their big day.
My assistant Sammy and I began the day at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Northeast in Mentor, where Sami and Brent got ready separately. After an emotional first look between Sami and her father, we left the hotel for their venue, the Perry Community Center in Perry. Sami and Brent couldn't get married next to Lake Erie without incorporating the beach itself, so we staged their first look right on the water's edge! After many laughs and tears as Sami and Brent took each other in, we then joined their wedding party and families for more portraits in the nearby grassy areas.
Sami and Brent's ceremony began in the late afternoon, and their reception began soon afterward with entrances, toasts (including a custom ukelele ballad by the Matron of Honor!), and a buffet dinner. The weather was perfect with a beautiful sunset over the lake, so Sami, Brent, and many guests spent time together outside after that. As it got dark though, the party transitioned indoors with lively dancing, a cupcake cutting, and lots more celebration.
Congratulations to Sami and Brent!
