It’s always a blast to go back and visit Columbus, where I used to live! In early May, I headed there to photograph Meredith’s bat mitzvah in New Albany. We began the day at Temple Beth Shalom, where we took advantage of the beautiful morning light to do family portraits outside with Meredith’s parents Bethany and Ben as well as her older brother Isaac. We continued more portraits indoors, including Meredith’s family as well as rabbis Benji and Lenette.
After wrapping up pictures for the morning, Meredith’s service began and she did great! Coming from a formerly orthodox family, Meredith was the first woman in her family to read from the Torah. Everyone was so proud of her! Afterward, Meredith’s family and friends headed downstairs for a kiddush luncheon.
In the evening, Meredith’s celebration continued nearby at the New Albany Country Club. After a few family portraits outside, the party kicked off with a nearly packed dance floor from the moment guests first arrived. The night also featured delicious food, a sentimental slideshow, and of course the Hora.
Mazel tov, Meredith!
