Janelle and Josh tied the knot on what may have been one of the most popular wedding dates this decade: 10.10.20! Unwilling to let the pandemic postpone their wedding plans, Janelle and Josh planned through this year's ever-evolving health situation and decided to go forward with their October celebration.
My assistant Kelly and I both began the day at the O.C. Barber Piggery in Barberton, where Janelle and Josh got ready separately. This was my first time shooting at The Piggery, and it immediately became one of my favorite venues! Just about nothing can beat such a light and bright interior as a wedding-day backdrop for photography. After Janelle was dressed, we staged a first look with her father downstairs, which was full of both laughs and tears. After that, Janelle and Josh headed to Lake Anna Park for their own first look, surrounded by chrysanthemums that had been set out for the (canceled) Barberton Mum Festival. We then explored the rest of the park, which featured a duck pond, gazebo, and autumn decor just about everywhere. Janelle even brought a cathedral veil just for portraits- best idea ever?!
After portraits, we returned to the O.C. Barber Piggery where Janelle and Josh made it official. After their ceremony, we did family portraits before their reception kicked off with hilarious entrances, heartfelt toasts, a delicious meal, and lots of dancing. Janelle and Josh stepped outside with me just before sunset for a few more portraits, then at 8:30 all of their guests joined them for a nighttime sparkler celebration.
Congratulations to Janelle and Josh on their new marriage, and here's hoping to their one-year anniversary next year being pandemic-free!
