I had been looking forward to capturing Gina and Allen's wedding on May 16th for almost a year, and then this pandemic hit. With Covid19 wreaking havoc on large events everywhere, Gina and Allen made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone their big day until later this year. Just because they didn't officially tie the knot on May 16th, though, didn't mean that they couldn't celebrate their relationship with the next closest thing- a wedding-styled portrait session at their venue, Weymouth Country Club in Medina.
Our evening together was not only socially distanced (a face mask, hand sanitizer, and long lenses are coming with me now to all sessions!), but also bittersweet. I wish Gina and Allen could have been celebrating their marriage last Saturday, but it was also incredibly special to commemorate the date in a different way. (And Gina and Allen brought donuts as a wedding cake substitute!) These two have gone through this ordeal with so much patience and grace, and I seriously cannot wait to capture their postponed wedding later this summer! (I'm also super excited to try the honey they gave me, which Gina's father makes himself!)
Sending all the love to Gina, Allen, and other couples affected by Covid19 this year!
