2020 has been quite a year so far! With Covid19 leading to the postponement of most spring weddings, my weekends have been strangely free and, let's face it, a little boring. When Daniela reached out to me last week about photographing her son's eighth grade graduation party at the Signature of Solon clubhouse, I was excited not just to capture her family and friends' celebration, but also to get back in the swing of things photographing events! With the end of the school year being anticlimactic for so many students this year, this socially distanced graduation party was exactly what Liam, Chase, Cameron, Anand, Josh, Julian, and their families needed.
We took individual and family portraits on the bridge and in the shade near the clubhouse while the party culminated upstairs. I love using prompts when shooting portraits to get natural reactions, and one of the funniest moments for me was when I asked all the boys, on the count of three, to yell their favorite part of online learning during Covid19. On the count of three, just about everyone shouted "Nothing!!" and started laughing. It's been hard on everyone, but I love the honesty. Below are a few favorite images!
