I have known my friend Lisa for nearly 30 years (wow!) and her and Chad's wedding encompassed all of the things that make up my favorite events: handmade and personalized details, a gorgeous location with lush backdrops in every direction, lots of familiar faces in attendance, and most importantly, a sweet, fun, and down-to-earth couple.
Lisa and Chad officially tied the knot on July 10th, 2020 in a small elopement ceremony in Maine during the middle of the pandemic, and they used their first anniversary as an opportunity to renew their vows and celebrate with their family and friends with the party they couldn't have last year. Everything from getting ready to the reception was at Hines Hill Campus in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which made for a laidback day with lots of time for portraits and other details.
I began the day as Lisa got ready with her bridesmaids in the cottage, then we staged Lisa and Chad's first look just outside. After that, we did portraits with the wedding party on the nearby grounds, followed by portraits of just Lisa and Chad next to the nearby pond. Lisa and Chad's ceremony was short and sweet, and featured an arbor that Chad made by hand himself! Their ceremony was followed by cocktail hour and a tented reception featuring delicious food, lots of dancing, and outdoor games.
Congratulations to Lisa and Chad on their first year around the sun as a married couple! Below are a few favorites from their day!
