Stephanie and Vickram had originally been planning for a June 2020 wedding and, well, we all know what happened next. These two postponed their two day celebration for over a year due to the pandemic, and were finally able to tie the knot surrounded by friends and family in early July. From their pre pandemic engagement session to their post pandemic portrait session, Stephanie and Vick have been such a pleasure to work with, and never at a loss for ideas for great pictures!
I began Friday at Stephanie's father's home in Middleburg Heights as she and her bridesmaids got ready for their backyard ceremony. Vick's Baraat then arrived, full of honking, decorated cars. After Vick's welcome, their traditional Hindu ceremony commenced in a decorated tent in the backyard. Following the ceremony, we did family portraits in the woods nearby, then headed to Stephanie and Vick's home for a quick prayer with Stephanie's grandmother. Stephanie and Vick's pup Sophie joined us for a few images with her human parents, and we finished the evening with more portraits in the field down the street.
On Saturday, my assistant Amber and I headed to the Emerald Event Center in Avon for Stephanie and Vick's reception. We began the day as Stephanie and Vick got dressed separately, and then staged their first look in a shady spot outside the hotel. We then drove downtown for wedding party portraits at Wade Oval, outside the Cleveland Museum of Art. After that, we returned to the Emerald Event Center for family portraits in the courtyard and cocktail hour. Stephanie and Vick's reception kicked off soon after, and there was truly no detail they hadn't thought of- images of the two of them around every turn, pup-themed drink bars, their own up-lit wedding monogram, indoor fireworks on the dance floor, and even a fog machine just for Stephanie and Vick's first dance! We stepped outside for a few minutes at sunset for a few last portraits, then returned as the celebration continued on the dance floor.
I am so happy for these two, and their wedding was definitely worth waiting for! Congratulations!
